Zombies

It’s been eleven days since the  the start of the zombie apocalypse. It started out with just a few,  ten, but then their numbers increased vastly. Our small army was quickly overcome. Among the undead , my brother, my father , and a few others. These zombies are not like the ones in the movies …..they’re smarter. Everything was fine until the zombies came. Just me playing the computer and having fun. No! they found me….raugh.

Pros and Cons of The Community

Author's Note: I wrote this piece to demonstrate my understanding of pros and cons

What would it be like to live in a community where everything appears perfect?  What if all decisions were made for you?  In the book The Giver, by Lois Lowry, the main character Jonas lives in a community where all the choices are made for the citizens.  There are many pros and cons to living in a community like this.

A positive thing about this community is that the elders pick the right job for you. This is good because you don’t have to worry about picking your job. Another reason is that you don’t worry about picking the wrong job. A last reason is that you get more time for your family.

Another thing is that the elders pick the right person who you will marry. A reason why this is good is because you don’t have to search who you like. Another reason why this is good because you don’t have to worry about divorce. A last  reason is not having to  pick who you mary gives some time to yourself.

A negative thing about this community is that they never give you the power of choice.  A reason is that you can’t pick who you marry. Another reason is that you can’t pick your job. The last reason is that you can’t pick who you really want to marry.
Another bad thing is that you get released.  A reason why this is bad because they will kill you. Also they released the old and the unhealthy babies.  The last reason is that when you are released you will never see your family again.

This community appears perfect and makes the choices for you.I would like to live in this community because i won’t have to search for my job or who i will marry. Even though I will get released and I won’t have the power of choice i still want to live there.

The Ghost,The White House , and Me

Author's note: I wrote this piece to demonstrate my understanding of sentence fluency

What would it be like to live in the White House? In the book The Ghost,The White House.   When their mom was elected president, Kaykay and Annie moved into the White House.  They heard that Lincoln's ghost still haunts the White House, so the girls decided to prank their uncle.  Their uncle was staying over for a night in Lincoln’s old bedroom. The girls did a lot of planning, so I predict that the prank will work for them.

The first part of the plan was to use an ipod dock  to broadcast the Gettysburg Address into Lincoln’s bedroom. By making the speech loud enough, they made sure it would would wake up their uncle and scare him.

Kaykay and Annie's friend, Borden, tells the girls that Lincoln’s ghost always knocks. So at 3:00 am, they knocked at the door of Lincoln’s bedroom to scare their uncle.

This book is similar to “Hamburger Halpin”  because “Hamburger Halpin” also featured a ghost even though the ghost is not the culprit. Another similarity is that both main characters of “Hamburger Halpin” and  The Ghost,The White House, and Me have delicious food to eat.

I predict that the prank will work because of the effort of the two girls.   Kaykay and Annie had many parts of a plan to scare their uncle.  Since I liked reading about pranks in the White House, I hope that the author of The Ghost,The White House, and Me will continue to write more books like this.

Sacrifice in Ribbons

Author's note: I wrote this piece to demonstrate my understanding of sacrifices.

What if you had to sacrifice most of the objects you liked?  In “Ribbons”, by Laurence Yep, Stacy’s grandmother comes to live with her and her family.  Both Stacy and her grandma had to sacrifice a great deal of their things

For Stacy she had to sacrifice most of her objects.  The objects she had to sacrifice were ballet, her favorite TV shows, her room, and her ice cream bar.  She may get most of her objects back but of course not her ice cream bar.

Stacy’s grandma also had to sacrifice plenty of her things too.  The grandma had to sacrifice her feet, her furniture, and her home.  She may get some of her objects but not all of her stuff back.

In “Ribbons” there are an abundance of sacrifices by Stacy and her grandma, but both of them will get most of their objects back.

Percy and Jason

Author's Note: I wrote this piece to demonstrate my understanding of  intros

What if the two main characters of The Mark of Athena started fighting to see which one was stronger? In The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan, the two main characters, Percy and Jason, sail to Rome to stop Gaea's forces. In trying to do this, Percy gets into trouble and Jason tries to save him. Throughout the book there are many similarities and differences between the two strong characters, Percy and Jason.
One similarity is that they're both sons of the Big Three. Percy Jackson is the son of Jason, Grace is the son of Zeus. Both gods broke their promise by having Jason and Percy.

Another similarity is that they both went to each others camp. Jason went to Camp-Halfblood while Percy went to the Roman camp. Hera, the queen of the gods, put them in the other’s camp to make peace between both camps.

One last similarity is that they both have special horses. Percy has a Pegasus named Blackjack. Jason has a Storm Spirit Horse named Tempest.

Besides similarities, there are also differences between these two characters. One main difference is how they got their horses. Percy saved his Pegasus from Luke, while Jason took control of his Storm Spirit Horse. Another difference is that Jason’s dad is the king of the gods while Percy’s dad is Zeus’ brother. The last difference is that  Percy is Greek and Jason is Roman.

Even though Percy and Jason may never fight, both of them are strong and heroic characters. I will continue to read more of Rick Riordan's series to see what will happen to these two characters.

Dewy and his rubber bands

Oh no dewy give back that rubber band Dewy is a library cat that likes to steal rubber bands and eats  them he once stole a giant rubber band we thought we hid all the bands but in a coffe mug there are  rubber bands in it. So we put a cover on it and the next day latter there were bite marks on the cover
So it was the coffee mug was dewy source of rubber bands.

Now dewy  loves catnip give him a little bit and he will go crazy and start rolling around on the floor.
He even snakes around like he has no spine. After while he calms down . Dewy  loves the needles on a fake Christmas tree.

Thanks to dewy antics the library is more fun. Dewy is not like any other cat, he is a friend.
